After what feels like forever searching, I am absolutely thrilled to finally say it out loud: We have a small little shop! Between sky-high rents, wrong locations, spaces that were just too small, and a million other reasons why things weren’t working out, there were times when this felt impossible. But we’ve finally been lucky enough to secure a new spot to grow Essex Sweet Tooth, and I cannot wait to share it with you.
The Journey So Far
As many of you know, this business is just me, operating with the massive help of my close family and friends. I truly couldn’t do it without them! I’m also a mum to a small child, so juggling family life and running a business is incredibly hard.
Taking on a physical shop is a huge leap. I don’t know whether this will turn out good or bad, but I do know it’s the necessary next step for us. It’s a big test to see how we grow, and honestly? Even if it doesn't work out in the long run, we will have gained so much experience from it. This is scary, exciting, overwhelming, and amazing all at once—but we’re ready to take the leap!
The Big Reveal: Where Are We Moving?
We are incredibly excited (and a little nervous!) to meet new people, build a new customer base, and introduce our sweets and desserts to more local families.
Yes, we are moving slightly out of Thurrock. This is definitely scary because our Thurrock customers have always been our core community. But don't panic, we aren’t going far!
We are officially coming to Basildon Town Centre!
What This Means for Our Local Delivery Customers
We can absolutely still cater for our loyal locals! We will still be offering our usual sweet deliveries in all of our normal areas because our insurance still fully covers us to do so. Nothing changes for:
- Grays
- Chadwell St Mary
- Tilbury
- East Tilbury
- South Ockendon
- Aveley
Important Doughnut Update: Because our doughnut machine will now live at the new shop, our fresh doughnuts will become a one-off treat for delivery. We will be announcing special "Doughnut Days" on our socials so you can get your orders in and never miss out!
What’s Coming to the Basildon Shop?
If you come visit us in Basildon Town Centre, you are in for a serious treat. Here is what we'll be serving up:
- Over 100 different Pick ‘n’ Mix sweets
- Fresh doughnuts
- Slush Puppies
- Ice cream
- Our famous Belgian chocolate cups
- Sweet gifts
- Fresh Candy Floss (on selected days)
- Fresh Popcorn (on selected days)
Planning Your Visit: Parking Info
If you are driving down to see us, there are a few parking options nearby for a small fee, which puts you right in the middle of loads of other great shops.
If you prefer free parking, you can park at Asda Basildon! Just keep in mind that it is a little bit of a walk down to us, as we are at the other end of the town centre.
